Wonderwall.com is kicking off a brand new year by rounding up the best and worst fashion from January 2023! First up? The delight of Sienna Miller‘s return to boho chic! The star went back to her fashion roots with this frilly and floral Alessandra Rich gown, complete with one spaghetti strap and one slightly off-the-shoulder ruffled sleeve. The cream shade and pale floral print overlay wowed at the National Board of Review Awards in New York City on Jan. 8 — and has us hoping she sticks with this throwback style.

Priyanka Chopra showed off a cozy winter look at the launch of her limited-edition Universal Colour Collection with Max Factor in London on Jan. 10. While we loved the beauty’s commitment to shades of brown and those thigh-high tan suede boots, she lost us with that massive oversized camel coat that eclipsed her cute turtleneck sweater dress.

We love a star who doesn’t take herself too seriously! Hailey Bieber stepped out in Los Angeles on Jan. 6 rocking a cropped shirt that read “nepo baby” — a response to the viral Vulture article about the kids of famous people. She paired her statement tee with light denim jeans and a chunky pair of Proenza Schouler loafers. A Prada shoulder bag rounded out her low-key off-duty look.

Michelle Yeoh can always be counted upon for a chic ensemble, and her look at the National Board of Review Awards in New York City on Jan. 8 didn’t disappoint. The actress arrived in Erdem — a white laser-cut blouse paired with a high-waisted skirt complete with a peplum detail. The peplum element seemed to be a favorite silhouette of the stylish star this awards season so far…

Michelle Yeoh also embraced a peplum layer when she wore this navy blue Armani Privé gown to the 2023 Golden Globes on Jan. 10. We loved the unique pairing of the peplum with a strapless silhouette and a column-style skirt… all topped with subtle shimmery embellishments that complemented her diamonds from Moussaieff Jewellers.

Cate Blanchett arrived at the 34th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala on Jan. 5 in this throwback one-piece — a vintage 2009 Armani Privé jumpsuit with a cape-like detail at the shoulders and embellishments down the center. She completed the ensemble with simple black Jimmy Choo heels. Though we love the star’s commitment to repeat wearing, we couldn’t get behind this underwhelming look.

More neon tulle in 2023! Nico Parker rocked this stunning pop of color at the premiere of her HBO show, “The Last of Us,” in Los Angeles on Jan. 9. The star’s youthful Mac Duggal confection included ruffled tulle along the neckline and at the hemline in an eye-catching bold yellow shade.

Kate Hudson ushered in a pop of color in the midst of a dreary winter month at the Variety Creative Impact Awards during the Palm Springs Film Festival on Jan. 6. The star’s Huishan Zhang sleeveless frock included a high neck, a keyhole cutout and plenty of pretty pleating all in a beautiful bubblegum pink. Our only gripe? The way she paired this cheery dress with black heels.

Shania Twain served up a “Legally Blonde” moment in New York City on Jan. 5 in this hot pink cropped coat and capri pants combo. She even had an adorable chihuahua with her while walking in the city! The country music superstar finished off her cheery look with black platform sandals that perfectly complemented the piping on her jacket.

The always fashionable Hailey Bieber stepped out with husband Justin Bieber in Los Angeles on Jan. 6 in this baggy gray suit. And while the star effortlessly pulled off the pinstriped The Attico pieces, which she paired with Marni heeled loafers, we’re hoping this oversized business-casual look doesn’t catch on.

From the white platform pumps to the bold blue floral-print minidress, we loved every inch of Quinta Brunson‘s look while she did press for her show “Abbott Elementary” New York City on Jan. 3. A tiny orange clutch infused another bright shade into this ensemble.

While we adore a good pop of color on the red carpet, the shades of the custom Tory Burch gown Viola Davis wore to the 34th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala on Jan. 5 weren’t a match made in heaven. The star’s short-sleeved design featured a fabulous silhouette — that V-neck paired with the striping made a sharp statement — but the combo of bright blue and red lost us.

Pretty in pink! Brooke Shields opted for hot pink at the National Board of Review Awards in New York City on Jan. 8. The star’s sleeveless midi-length pick was an instant hit… made even more fabulous by the addition of matching pointy-toe pumps.

We adored the floral frock Niecy Nash-Betts wore to the Golden Salute to Sheryl Lee Ralph and Niecy Nash-Betts event in Marina Del Rey, California, on Jan. 8. The star’s long-sleeved midi-length black dress with an all-over ivory floral print evoked a cheery spring vibe.

Stephanie Hsu was ready for Valentine’s Day in this darling red and pink Valentino confection. The star attended the 34th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala in Palm Springs, California, on Jan. 5 in this pale pink gown that featured a flow of delicate ruffles tied at the waist with a bright red sash for an extra pop of color.

The bright green Rodarte dress that Jenny Slate wore to the 2023 Golden Globes on Jan. 10 started out strong — we loved that vibrant shade! But the halter-style frock ran amiss thanks to an oversized floral embellishment at the neckline that gave the gown a more campy vibe… and the messy updo she paired with it certainly didn’t help matters.

We adore a romantic Valentino gown, and the frothy black design Janelle Monae wore to the National Board of Review Awards in New York City on Jan. 8 was a big hit in our books. From the billowy tulle sleeves to the dazzling embellished border of the cutouts along the waist to the way the skirt flowed behind her and her dramatic updo, this glam look gets an A+.

We adored the pantsuit Andie MacDowell wore to the New York Premiere of “The Way Home” in New York City on Jan. 11 — black coordinates spiced up by silver embellishments. The star added a white turtleneck and black pumps to the chic suit for a standout look on the red carpet.

We were underwhelmed by Jenna Ortega’s Golden Globes ensemble on Jan. 10 — this wispy brown Gucci pick. The star’s haphazard dress included sharp cutouts, asymmetrical hemlines, billowy sleeves and a dramatic train. And though we didn’t love this messy look, we did appreciate the “Wednesday” beauty’s accessories.

Jenna Ortega added layered edgy Tiffany and Co. necklaces that ended up being our favorite element of her Globes night ensemble.

Emma Hernan channeled Cher Horowitz from “Clueless” while out in Los Angeles on Jan. 11 in this bright yellow plaid number. The “Selling Sunset” star rocked the minidress and jacket combo with a pair of sky-high platform sandals while filming her Netflix reality show.

Heidi Klum‘s look at the 2023 Golden Globes on Jan. 10 left a lot to be desired. Her minidress — crafted from purple feathers and silver sequins — seemed to be inspired by Las Vegas showgirls. If the short silhouette wasn’t enough of a shock at the high-fashion event, the cutouts and sheer paneling certainly kicked things up a notch. She finished things off with more silver — strappy sandals and a clutch — to cement the fashion miss.

More plaid we loved this month? The cute coat and skirt combo Anna Kendrick rocked in New York City on Jan. 11. We loved the pale brown plaid paired with an ivory blouse and brown pointy-toe pumps, which cemented this look as a perfect winter hit for the star.

“Abbott Elementary” was a big winner at the 2023 Golden Globes on Jan. 10. Star Quinta Brunson took home a best actress statuette but her Christian Siriano dress wasn’t a smash hit. We weren’t wild about the strapless frock’s fit-and-flare vibe or the combo of hot pink and black paired with all that tulle.

Allison Williams arrived at a screening of her film “M3GAN” in New York City on Jan. 4 in this shimmery Emilia Wickstead number. The gold strapless frock dazzled, and she wisely paired it with black Christian Louboutin pointy-toe pumps for a sophisticated and statuesque look.

Lily James tapped Atelier Versace for this gorgeous red gown she wore to the 2023 Golden Globes on Jan. 10. The confection featuring a strapless bodice with cutouts and a structural ballgown skirt flowed behind her on the red carpet. She added standout jewels too…
