It will soon be time to once again don a famous Red Nose in the name of Comic Relief as Red Nose Day 2023 is just around the corner.
Red Nose Day is an event designed to help put an end to child poverty around the world through fundraising events and TV specials, raising money to keep children safe, healthy, and educated.
A whole host of celebrities have already been confirmed to host and perform on the night and BBC Morning Live’s Gethin Jones will be taking part in a 24 hour danceathon to raise money for the event.
But when is Red Nose Day in 2023?
Here is all you need to know about this year’s charity event.
When is Red Nose Day 2023?
This year, Red Nose Day is on Friday, March 17, 2023.
Money raised from this year’s event will help people struggling with the cost of living crisis and will tackle issues such as homelessness and food poverty.
Which celebrities are involved in this year’s Red Nose Day?
This year, the live TV event on BBC One will be hosted by AJ Odudu and Joel Dommett, alongside Zoe Ball, Paddy McGuiness and David Tennant.
There is also a whole host of comedy sketches and performances yet to be announced.
Last year’s event raised an incredible £42,790,147 for the cause and the organisers will be hoping to beat that total in 2023.
Where can you buy a Red Nose?
This year’s Nose has been designed by Sir Jony Ive, who designed some of Apple’s most sought after products.
It is made almost entirely from plant based materials and starts as a tiny crescent, before springing into a sphere when opened.
Discussing his design, Sir Jony said: ‘We’ve grown up with Comic Relief and are proud to support their remarkable work.
‘This new and seemingly simple Red Nose has been a fabulously complex little object to design and make and has involved our entire team. We hope it brings a little moment of joy to everyone who wears one.’
Red Nose Day 2023 airs on Friday, March 17, on BBC One.
