Mauritius is part of the Mascarene islands and is surrounded by coral reef and sandy beaches. The 1.27m population largely speak Creole, but English and French are widely spoken in professional and academic settings. The rent for houses with 2 to 4 bedrooms over a surface area of 100-200m squared will on average range between USD 250 – USD 500 (£159-£397.50) per month.
